About Kim Cook - Photographer
Photography is a center point to which Kim’s life seems to revolve. She has enjoyed taking
pictures from an early age, and has a natural eye for composition and a knack for catching special moments.
While majoring in Music and studying photography in College, she managed and was the
photographer for an Olan Mills Studio, where she received further instruction focusing on portraiture.
After College, while working for two well respected professional photo labs, she had a successful
business combining her love of music with photography . Photographing mostly local up and coming bands, she also did
work for many famous musical artists in the LA music scene. Her work being used for promotional purposes and
being published in several local music magazines.
Kim has been an avid horsewoman for the majority of her life, training in Eventing, Hunter/Jumpers,
Western Pleasure & Mounted Drill Team, and most reciently, Dressage, it was only natural to lend her photographic
skills to the Equestrian world too.
Through the ‘90’s she worked in the Photographic department of the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory (JPL/NASA), increasing her photo knowledge by learning B&W and color processing and printing as well as digital
photography and Graphic Design.
Today Kim continues to expand her creative instincts by incorporating the latest in computer
technology, digital photography and graphic design into her work. Her unique talent of combining
her favorite interests with photography has lead to a wonderful profession that is more of a hobby than an actual job,
allowing her to truly enjoy what she does.
